Dioctyl Terephthalate (DOTP)

     Di(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate (DOTP) is an organic compound with the molecular formula C24H38O4. It appears as a transparent oily liquid, insoluble in water but soluble in common organic solvents. DOTP is an excellent primary plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics. Compared to the commonly used di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DOP), it offers advantages such as heat resistance, cold resistance, low volatility, resistance to extraction, good flexibility, and excellent electrical insulation properties. It demonstrates outstanding durability, soap water resistance, and low-temperature flexibility in products.
     Main Properties:
1. DOTP is a high-performance primary plasticizer with excellent electrical and thermal properties. Its volume resistivity is 10–20 times that of DOP, making it particularly effective for cable materials with low volatility. It is widely used in products requiring heat resistance and high insulation, making it an ideal plasticizer for producing 70°C heat-resistant cable materials and other PVC products requiring low volatility.
2. It also exhibits good cold resistance, heat resistance, extraction resistance, and low volatility, with a high plasticizing efficiency. It shows excellent durability, soap water resistance, and low-temperature flexibility in products, making it suitable as a plasticizer for PVC resins, such as in high-insulation PVC cable materials.
3. It can be blended with DOP in any proportion.
4. When used in plastisols, it reduces viscosity and extends shelf life.
